Height

It’s possible to place a bass guitar and a violin on top of each other in the mix without having them fight each other for the attention of the listener. Placing multiple instruments with different timbres and frequencies on top of each other in a mix is what adds to the dimension of height. Continuing to place instruments on top of each other throughout the stereo field is a great way to make your mix sound really large and full. Experimenting with height and different combinations of instruments enables you to create a more interesting mix for the listener and keep their attention for the whole length of the song.
